For the Formation Team

Presentation Notes

The section provides basic information for those who are responsible for conducting Study sessions for those participants involved in the Inquiry and Candidacy Stages of formation.  They are designed to be previewed then studied well before the Study Guide for each session is distributed to the participants because, in addition to having enough time to prepare the presentation, the presenter must occasionally make some choices about the reading assignment and will need to indicate those choices on the Study Guide.  It is recommended that the entire Formation Team be knowledgeable about the content of the Presentation Notes for each module even if only one person is scheduled as the actual presenter.  This strategy will enable anyone on the Formation Team to “take over” a presentation should illness or other obstacle prevent the original presenter from conducting the session.

Be sure to read "For the Formation Team:  Before You Get Started" which  is found below and "For the Inquirer and Candidate:  Before You Get Started"  on the home page under The Inquiry stage. These documents contain important background information as well as suggestions and cautions about which you should be aware before using this program.

The section for "Come and See" is provided to aid in conducting an overview session about life within the Dominican Laity before any formal modules are presented.  There are two links in the “Come and See” section.  The first link contains suggestions for planning the "Come and See" event.  The second link is the actual notes to be used during the overview session.  Often this overview session is scheduled in conjunction with a parish’s Time, Talent, and Treasure Stewardship Program but does not necessarily need to be a connected to parish activities.

The Presentation Notes for each module are basic lesson plans for engaging the participants in the topic to be studied.  Prior to each session, the participant should receive a Study Guide for that module to enable him/her to read any assignment beforehand and thus engage more thoughtfully in the activities of the session.  Please refer to the appropriate section on the Home Page which are labeled for Inquiry and Candidacy for those Study Guides.

Occasionally, there will be a Presentation Handout that is to be given to the participants either during or after a particular session.  You may click on the links to those handouts below where appropriate.

Please click on the link below for the information you need.
